Carters First Artwork!

On Wednesday I got the bright idea to let Carter and the little girl I babysit finger paint, I had never done an art activity with Carter so we decided to give finger painting a try. He was a little unsure whether or not he was actually allowed to play in it, but after I cheered him on a little bit he ended up making me two beautiful master pieces for my fridge!! They are my favorite decoration!

First Icecream Experience

I know this is a little late..... better late than never I guess. But for Mothers Day all I wanted was to go out for icecream! The Thursday before Mothers Day it was sunny and pretty warm so we decided to do just that!! After much hesitation on my part (because I am crazy nutrition conscious with Carter) we decided to get him a small vanilla icecream cone. He loved it! He ate all the icecream and then started on the cone, you can see in the pictures how the cone is literally down to the bottom grate when I finally took it way from him, I did not want him to choke! I think that going for icecream is going to be a popular family activity this summer! Dan and Carter also surprised me with a Vera Bradley messenger bag that I desperately wanted and two new books! They are so sweet! Thank You! Happy Belated Mothers Day to all the moms reading!

Off to see the doctor

Carter had his one year appt. recently and he weighed in at 18lbs and was 28.5 inches long! That is a far cry from the 5lbs. 1 oz. 17 inches he was at birth. The doctor said that he looks great. We did not get any vaccinations because Carter had been on a round of steroids for croup. I was so glad, no mommy wants to see their baby get shots, so at least I can put it off for a few more weeks. Now that Carter is one this is what he is doing:
  • Walking/running with his push behind toys
  • Cruising along furniture
  • Taking a few unassisted steps
  • Eating tons of table food (all good stuff of course)
  • 100% on whole milk no more formula!!
  • Says Mom and Dada when he needs our attention.
  • Is getting good at putting things in and out of containers
  • Loves playing in his ball pit and climbing!
  • Still only has two little teeth... we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of more!
I thought it would be neat to post a picture of Carter as a newborn and now... enjoy!

Happy Birthday Big Boy!

On April 19th Carter celebrated his first birthday! Though he was feeling a little under the weather with a temp of 102, he still had a pretty good time at his party. We had it in our church activity room and invited all our friends and family! Thank you to everyone who came for all the wonderful gifts :) We are so blessed. Here are some pictures of the day....
