Something Special

I am a big blog reader. Ever since I found the world of 'blogging' I have abandoned my countless magazine subscriptions (except the free ones of course).
I would rather sit down to a tale of 'real life' as the writer sees it than an article on the next greatest fashion trend. A hard back book no more give me a laptop with my blogs and I am one happy girl!
I follow so many blogs, that my Firefox bookmark was full of only blogs. No recipes or insightful quotes. Just blogs and lots of them.
Thank goodness someone told me about Google reader, I need not loose sleep now in fear that the bookmark function on my browser may one day become to full and I would be limited to the number of blogs I could obsess...'read' over.
I feel like the blogs I read always have something special to write about. When I started this blog I really thought I was lacking all that is special and would bore my readers... or rather the six readers I may or may not have. I felt compelled to post today... since yes I have already been slacking. I was searching for something 'special' to write about. As much as I like reading blogs I like 'special' just as much, pretty sure I use it way to much!! "SPECIAL?" Yep, special.

You will often hear me telling Dan I want to do something 'special', go somewhere 'special', buy, or wear something 'special'. Since Carter's been born I have become obsessed with making every event or experience 'special' for him. Yes I am pretty sure I am obsessed with special.... though I have come to realize that pretty ordinary, day to day stuff can be some of the most 'special' times. And so Special Saturday is born. Every Saturday I am going to post something that I found special about my week. Feel free to join in you can leave it in comments or if anyone wants to help me with a linky that would be incredible...

We went on a little afternoon trip to Bounce U this week! It was so much fun. They have gigantic blow up slides, and big bouncy contraptions. Plus under 2 is free so it is a free family activity for the next two months!!

This weekend Carter and I spent sometime just hanging around together. He ate a few snacks....
He received a few unwanted kisses....
.....and he sported a handmade groundhog hat with a plain white onesize!!

So what did you do special this week?

  3. Yep, I read a lot too. I love the blog world. And I think that "special" reads are as special as the people who wrote them. It seems to me that you blog about life (ya know, in the very limited look I've had at your blog) and that in itself will be very special to look back on for a certain almost two year old.

  4. I LOVE Google Reader!

I remember before I discovered it I would head to each of my favorite blogs every day or every other day checking to see if there was a new post...now I just add them to the blogs I follow and Poof - new posts delivered daily! Best thing EVER! :)
